New Ideas for Your Favourite Ales and Lagers
Bocktails - Beer Cocktails
Beer cocktails, this summers must try drink..
A cocktail by definition is the blending of two or more beverages to create a new alcoholic drink, and while to some the blending of beer with other liquids might seem sacrilegious, we challenge you to give a few of these fun recipes a try to see what you think and to experience something new.
Bocktails are not a new idea as the first recorded recipe for one was included in one of the first bartenders guides written in 1862. The drink was a mixture of sugar, spices, eggs and ale and was called the Ale Flip. Today the recipe is still served at bars around the world and now includes some lemon juice and brandy, but the basics of the recipe remain the same.
Beer Cocktails are growing in popularity around the world and while you might have heard of a Shandy (a mixture of sparkling lemonade and beer) we think you might be surprised at how fun and tasty these mixtures can be. Enjoy!

A blending of stout and champagne - we know that there are purist on both sides of the fence here who think this is blasphemous to bring these two together but give it a try you might be surprised how they compliment each other.
